Meet Your Groomers
Tracy Young Cook
I graduated from Murphy HS in 1989, I then moved to PA with family to attend college until 1992. My mom wanted me to take over her businesses someday but it’s not what I wanted to do. I always knew I wanted to work with animals since growing up on a farm. After college I moved with my sister in Chicago and started working for a Grooming and Boarding facility. After a year of learning all aspects of the facility besides being able to groom a dog the owner at the time asked if I wanted to go to grooming school and so my career began.
In 1993 I attended Midwest Dog Grooming Academy and learned how to groom.
Over the years I competed in all groups mostly Non-Sporting and Terriers. I got certified by the National Dog Groomer’s Association In Sporting, Non-Sporting, Terrier, Toy, and Herding Groups.
I attended as many seminars as I could find to educate myself on Health, Food, Skin Conditions, Anatomy but mostly the changing breed cuts in the different groups.
In 2014 I moved back to Murphy to take care of my parents. I decided to do what I love and opened Lovin Care Grooming and Boarding.
I’m thankful the business has done well and we keep growing every year.
After many years of searching, I found my passion for grooming in 2013. Growing up with a love for animals and riding horses for thirteen years fed the passion to work with dogs more so than ever. When I'm not grooming, I spend my time with family and participating in the local cub scouts pack 400. My kids inspire me to do my best every day. So in 2013, I was hired at PetSmart and the training began. Grooming for the Corporate world with a total of four years, a certification was achieved through PetSmart’s training. A little over a year was spent grooming at Wiggly Butts Grooming in the small business industry. This salon gave me the opportunity to work with a highly experienced groomer and gained much quality to my own work. In 2017, a decision was made to become a stay-at-home mom and freelance the grooming trade. Deciding to make the move to Murphy, NC, I chose to uproot my family and start over. It was one of the best decisions ever made. September 2019, I found a wonderful job at Lovin' Care. It is everything I could want in a career and still get family time as well. I finally found an amazing team and family and couldn’t have it any other way.
From chef pants to smocks! I began my working career in culinary arts but always knew I wanted to work with animals. After years of managing restaurants I finally caught my chance with Lovin Care Pet Grooming and Boarding to pursue my dreams in working with dogs. I was always told growing up to find something you love to do and it will never seem like work. It couldn't be more true. Now with more than two years under my belt I look forward to expanding my knowledge and experience in grooming and really all aspects of the doggie world. My strength is the ability to work with shy, skittish or just unsure fur babies that require patients and understanding but I love ALL dogs as they were my own.
